Brief History:
Satsang in the Los Angeles, CA area began in 1978 with His Holiness 1008 Shree Tejendraprasadji Maharaj's first visit to USA. The followers had decided they wanted a magnificent Mandir to enrich their children with culture, spirituality and devotion. Many hardships came in constructing Shree Hari's divine mandir (Temple) in Norwalk, but with the blessings of Bhagavan Swaminarayan the construction finished on December 10, 2000. The Shree Swaminarayan Temple in Los Angeles, CA is a divine gift from Akshardham for the devoted followers of Original Sampraday of this area.
The procession with the divine idols began at Cerrito collage parking Lot. Extraordinary floats were designed for His Holiness as well as saints. As the procession neared the temple, many devotees danced to the name of Shri Hari. As the procession got closer, the devotees became immersed in the murti of Shri Hari. The procession lasted over five hours with the divine presence of Shri Hari.
The installation ceremony of the idols in the temple was celebrated in the presence of thousands of people from all over USA, UK, Canada, Australia and India with great splendor.
Individuals of all cultures and backgrounds have arrived to the temple for holi darshan of Lord Shree Swaminarayan
